About this Event
Given national bird declines, how are birds in Wiltshire faring? What impact are game birds having? Join two expert ornithologists as they share their experiences and insight.
Matt Prior is Chairman of Wiltshire Ornithological Society and has been a Conservation Officer running conservation projects for WOS since 1996. He will be talking about "Wiltshire Birds, the Ups and the Downs" explaining which birds are faring well and those facing challenges.
Nick Adams is an Independent Ornithologist, and a member of the Wiltshire Raptor Group. He used to work with the RSPB, in his role as the Area Conservation Manager for Northeast England, Yorkshire & Humber and he led for the RSPB on protecting breeding hen harriers in England. These roles have given him an insight into the conflict between raptors and gamebirds. Nick will be speaking on "Raptors and Gamebirds in the Marden Valley".
The talks will be hosted by Nikki Jones, Chair of Avon Needs Trees, who will give a short introduction to ANT's Hazeland Project on the River Marden. There will be an opportunity for a Q&A session with the speakers.
This is a free, online event organised by Avon Needs Trees and Friends of the Marden Valley. Absolutely all are welcome.
